My Journey with Earrings: From Two Lobes and a Helix to a Vast Collection Fit for a Shop

Earrings have always been more than just accessories for me. They are a form of self-expression, a way to brighten my day, and a passion that has grown over the years into something quite remarkable. Starting with just one lobe piercing and now two lobes and a helix. my love for earrings has expanded into a collection so large I could easily open a shop. This post shares my journey, the styles I adore, and how my collection grew into a treasure trove of unique pieces.

How It All Began

My earring journey started simply with one lobe piercing on each earlobe. These classic spots gave me the freedom to experiment with different styles, from tiny studs to delicate hoops. Soon after, I added another lobe, which introduced a new dimension to my ear styling with a stud and a hoop at the same time. Then i decided to add a helix which allowed me to wear more unique and edgy earrings, like small hoops and dazziling studs.

The combination of two lobes and a helix gave me a balanced canvas to mix and match earrings. I could wear subtle pieces on my lobes for everyday wear and add a bit of edge with the helix. This setup became my signature look and sparked my enthusiasm for collecting more earrings.

The Desire for a Mini Helix and Expanding My Collection

After enjoying the helix piercing, I started thinking about adding a mini helix. This smaller, more delicate piercing would let me layer even more earrings on my ear, creating a personalized and intricate look. The idea of stacking multiple earrings in different parts of my ear excited me because it meant more ways to express my style.

As I explored new piercings, my earring collection grew rapidly. I began collecting pieces from various places — handmade artisan earrings, vintage finds, and trendy designs from local boutiques. Each pair had a story or a special meaning, making my collection feel like a personal gallery.

Building a Collection That Could Fill a Shop

Over time, my collection expanded beyond what I ever imagined. I now have hundreds of pairs, ranging from minimalist studs to bold statement earrings. The variety includes:

  • Gold hoops in different sizes

  • Delicate gemstone studs with birthstones and unique cuts

  • Ear cuffs and climbers that wrap around the ear

  • Vintage-inspired dangly earrings with intricate designs

  • Handcrafted pieces made from natural materials like wood and shells

This collection is so extensive that I often joke I could open a shop. I have enough earrings to suit any outfit or occasion, and I love how each piece adds a little something special to my look.

Tips for Growing Your Own Earring Collection

If you’re inspired to build your own earring collection, here are some tips that helped me:

  • Start with basics: Invest in classic studs and hoops that go with everything.

  • Mix metals and styles: Don’t be afraid to combine gold, silver, and rose gold or mix minimalist with bold designs.

  • Explore different piercings: Adding piercings like a helix or mini helix opens up new styling options.

  • Look for unique pieces: Visit artisan markets, vintage shops, or online stores for earrings that stand out.

  • Organize your collection: Use a jewelry organizer or display stand to keep your earrings visible and easy to choose from.

The Joy of Wearing Earrings Every Day

Wearing earrings is a daily joy for me. They brighten my mood and complete my outfit. Whether I’m going for a casual look with simple studs or dressing up with statement earrings, my collection gives me endless options. The mini helix piercing I plan to get will add even more versatility.

Earrings are more than just jewelry; they are a way to celebrate individuality and creativity. My journey from two lobes and a helix to a vast collection has been rewarding and fun. I look forward to adding the mini helix and discovering new pieces to keep my collection fresh and exciting.
